From the spectacular Colossus of Rhodes, to the magnificent lighthouse of Alexandria, the Pyramid of Khufu, the Hanging gardens of Babylon, the Temple of Artemis, the Statue of Zeus, the Tomb of Mausolus, of the 7 ancient wonders of the world, only the great pyramids of Giza near Cairo in Egypt remain.

Nowadays the ‘modern’ 7 Wonders of the World are officially: the Coliseum in Rome, the great Wall of China, the Statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the Taj Mahal in India, Macchu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico and Petra in Jordan.

However, limiting the world’s ‘marvels’ to seven seems unnecessarily limited; which is why we have created our own list of 100 places, monuments or towns which we feel merit the name ‘wonders of the world’.
